Explore 360 degree Virtual Tours of South Africa

We at 360 South Africa have been creating 360 degree Virtual Tours, much like Google Street View, for the past 2 years, including hundreds of attractions in SA, as well as inside accommodation and business. More samples at www.360southafrica.com

We are very glad to find that Google Street View is coming to South Africa! Google has committed to launching the Google Street View for South Africa before the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. Street View feature is used in both Google Earth (earth.google.com) and Google Maps (maps.google.com).

Toyota has supplied a fleet of Toyota Prius Hybrid cars to Google for this project. The Street View cars are equipped with a rather strange looking roof-rack with a vertical pole with a set of cameras on top. As the car is driven down the road, the cameras take 360 degree photos of the area.
