Making a Virtual Tour

So just how is a Virtual Tour created?

A high end Digital SLR camera is used with a specialized fisheye lens (not just any fisheye lens will do). A series of images are then shot in a full 360 degree circle. These images are then stitched together, and optimized in post production using advanced HDR techniques.

(note: This is a very simplified example for demonstration purposes only)

Finally, the image is combined with a specialized viewer (based on flash. We prefer Flash, find out why) which makes the panoramic photo interactive, allowing the user to click and drag on the screen to look around in all directions, a full 360 degree spin.

Here is the final product, in the Flash player. This virtual tour has been compressed for fast loading even over slow internet connections.

Click on the image and drag your mouse to look around. Click full screen for best effect.

Easy as that! Getting this to actually work in practice is, however, not quite that simple. It has taken years of research, development and practice to perfect this technique, along with using HDR techniques, and the latest flash player technology, to create the beautifully realistic HD Quality Virtual Tours that we are now very proud to provide for our clients.
